Australia’s first ‘just for babies’ spa opened and it’s making a lot of newborns, and their parents so blissfully happy, because being a baby is hard, ya know.
Baby Spa Perth opened 11 months ago and already has an impressive list of loyal clients. The spa offers 45-minute hydrotherapy and infant massage sessions for $85. The spa has treated babies as young as six days old to six months old. As the first baby only spa in Australia, Baby Spa Perth has attracted parents and babies from all over Australia that are looking for a special day out.
The spa’s, co-owner Anita Yap claims that the treatments offer many health benefits, including promoting muscle growth, improved sleep, increased lung capacity, and relieving wind and digestive discomfort. “One of the main benefits we love the most is the parent’s bonding experience,” Anita said.
Xavier, Anita’s own son, has even been pampered with Baby Spa sessions since he was just six days old. Anita opened the spa with her sister Kavita Kumar, who admitted that the birth of her child and the business at the same time was not on purpose. Anita said, “I love children and it’s something that we always wanted to do so it was a coincidence that I was pregnant at the same time.”
While at first look, the flotation devices used during the sessions may appear harmful to the baby by skeptical parents, but they are actually 100% safe. The ‘BUBBY’ devices the spa uses are designed to support the back of the baby’s neck with their chin resting forward on the doughnut-shaped device. Although, the devices may look a bit funny, but Anita assures her clients that they are “very safe” when used under the supervision of a trained professional.
“People love it, parents love it, babies love it.” Anita gushed
