A lot of celebrities open up about their personal battles in hopes that they will inspire other people to overcome their own. Kelly Osbourne, for example, has made it pretty clear that her life has never been perfect, and she doesn’t intend to make it that way, either. However, Kelly’s latest confession about her relationship with her mother Sharon has a lot of people wondering what the heck was really going on in the Osbourne household 10 years ago.
Whether you love her or hate her, there’s no denying that Sharon Osbourne gets the job done, especially when it comes to parenting her children. In fact, Sharon was so worried about Kelly’s drug addiction that she put her daughter away in a mental institution to teach her a lesson that she’ll never forget. In her new book, ‘There’s No F*cking Secret,’ Kelly detailed the experience writing, “Mum once locked me in a mental institution for three days, and it scared the hell out of me. … I had to wear paper shoes, since I could potentially kill myself with a shoelace, and wasn’t allowed to have anything metal, not even a spoon.” Yes, heavy stuff we know!
Kelly continued to write, “I wasn’t suicidal by medical standards, but I heard Mum’s message loud and clear: stop using drugs before I was gone for good. The only way I could even face my life was by opening that pill bottle, shaking out a few pills — or a handful — into my palm, and throwing them down my throat.” The Rock N Roll heiress also opened up about her love life and how she’s had a very hard time dating men, due to the wild things she saw while growing up on the road with her parents.
In her book Kelly revealed, “My friends now might wonder why I’m single and don’t trust men, but they need only look back to my time on tour to understand why: the dynamic between the groupies and the bands was disgusting,” she wrote, adding, “It wasn’t unusual to walk in on someone in the middle of the act. Everyone just did their best to ignore it and walk off.”
